On October 1, 2024, the second round of the NextGEng Team Teaching Pilot Program (TTPP) officially began, bringing together top academics and industry experts for a new, cutting-edge learning experience. Professors Călin Rusu from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and Javier Fernandez Aceituno from the Universidad de Jaén led two dynamic course modules—C5-Computer-Aided Design and C1-Strength of Materials—designed to engage students from Jamk University of Applied Sciences in practical, hands-on learning and international collaboration.
The TTPP is an initiative of the NextGEng project, aiming to bring an international and cooperative dimension to existing courses across partner higher education institutions (HEIs). By integrating new teaching content and methods, it fosters participation from both lecturers and industry experts, ensuring students gain access to best practices and real-world applications. This blend of academic rigor and industry insight allows students to apply theoretical knowledge directly to practical challenges, giving them a well-rounded, career-ready education.
One of the most innovative aspects of the TTPP is its flexible, modular course design, enabling students to tailor their learning experiences based on their individual capacities and backgrounds. New study cases and lab work are developed in collaboration with industry partners, directly reflecting real-world examples, and embedding eco-friendly practices to develop “green” competencies among students.
The second round of the NextGEng Team Teaching Pilot Program continues to build on the success of the first, reinforcing the program’s commitment to advancing engineering education and preparing students for the challenges of tomorrow’s industries.
